Behind the Brand: Preparing Liaison for the National Stage
When a company is growing quickly, its marketing has to grow with it. Over the past several months, our team at Cass Concepts has been working closely with Liaison Technology Group as the company continues expanding its national footprint, strengthening vendor relationships and preparing to show up in a bigger way across the technology integration industry. Most recently, that meant helping Liaison prepare for CEDIA, one of the industry’s biggest opportunities to connect with manufacturers, vendors and partners from across the country. But preparing a brand for a national stage is about a lot more than making sure everyone has something polished to hand out.
Telling the Bigger Story
Liaison has grown into a $30M+ organization with more than 120 employees and markets stretching from Illinois and Tennessee to Florida, Colorado and Wyoming. With that kind of growth comes an important marketing challenge: how do you take everything a company has become and communicate it in a way that is clear, compelling and easy for someone new to understand? That is where our work began. We helped shape messaging that went beyond services and capabilities to tell a bigger story about Liaison’s growth, leadership, national reach and vision for the future. We also focused heavily on the opportunity available to vendor partners who want to grow alongside the organization.

Bringing the Story to Life
From there, the story had to come to life visually. Our creative team developed a comprehensive vendor-focused magazine designed to help guide conversations before, during and after CEDIA. The goal was never to simply fill pages. Every page needed to have a purpose and help build a clearer picture of who Liaison is, what it brings to the table and where the company is headed. Some pages focused on credibility through company growth, team size and national presence. Others highlighted Liaison’s services, marketing capabilities, retail footprint, vendor relationships and commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for the brands it represents. Leadership messaging helped introduce CEO Steve Weber and the vision driving Liaison’s next chapter, while photography and project imagery helped make the organization feel both national in scale and personal in approach.
Marketing That Supports the Conversation
One of the things we talk about often at Cass Concepts is that marketing should help make the next conversation easier. For Liaison, these materials were never meant to replace the relationships happening at CEDIA. They were created to support them. When someone sits down with a vendor, meets a new partner or starts talking about future opportunities, the marketing should reinforce what that person is hearing. Who is Liaison? Where are they going? Why should a brand want to grow with them? Strong marketing helps answer those questions and gives the conversation something tangible to build from.
The Work Behind the Work
Projects like this are also a great reminder that what people eventually see is only a small part of the marketing process. Behind the finished magazine were strategy meetings, copy development, revisions, design concepts, photography selection, leadership feedback, positioning discussions and plenty of small details that all had to come together before anything went to print. That behind-the-scenes work is where so much of the value lives. It is not just about making something look good. It is about understanding where a client is headed and creating marketing that helps them get there.
Ready for the Next Stage
For Liaison, CEDIA was another opportunity to put that work into action by helping a growing organization walk into the room with a clearer story, stronger materials and a brand presence that reflects where the company is going next.
Because when the opportunity gets bigger, your marketing should be ready to meet it.
