Capturing the Story: Our Role in IAHC’s Evening at the Barn
Some events are about more than what happens in a single evening. They bring people together, celebrate a mission and create stories worth carrying forward. That was exactly the case with the Illinois Amish Heritage Center’s Evening at the Barn, and our team at Cass Concepts had the opportunity to help capture it.

More Than Event Coverage
When we approach an event like Evening at the Barn, our goal isn’t simply to document who was there or what happened. We’re thinking about the bigger story. What moments will help people understand the organization? What can we capture now that will continue to be valuable weeks or even months after the event?
Throughout the evening, our team captured event photography showcasing the people, atmosphere and details that made the experience special. These photos give IAHC a library of authentic imagery that can continue to support social media, future event promotion, website content and other marketing efforts.
Bringing the Evening to Life Through Video
Along with photography, we produced a recap video that brought together the sights, sounds and moments of the event. Video gives an organization the opportunity to do something photos alone cannot always accomplish: let someone feel what it was like to be there.
For those who attended, the recap provides a chance to relive the evening. For those who didn’t, it offers a glimpse into the experience and another reason to attend or get involved in the future.
Capturing the Stories Behind the Mission
We also conducted two interviews during the event, giving IAHC an opportunity to tell a deeper story beyond the evening itself.
Interviews are one of our favorite additions to event coverage because they put real voices behind an organization’s mission. Instead of simply telling an audience why the work matters, you can let the people connected to it explain that significance in their own words.
Combined with event footage and photography, those conversations become valuable storytelling pieces that can continue introducing people to IAHC, its history and its mission long after the barn doors close.
Creating Content With a Longer Life
One event can create much more than one piece of content. That’s something we encourage our clients to think about when planning their marketing. An event may last only a few hours, but the content captured during it can become social posts, videos, website imagery, future event promotions, interview clips and storytelling material for months to come.
For Evening at the Barn, our role was to help IAHC preserve the experience while also creating content that continues working for the organization afterward.
Helping Good Stories Travel Further
At Cass Concepts, we love working with organizations that have meaningful stories to tell. Sometimes our job is to help create the moment. Other times, it’s making sure that moment doesn’t disappear once the event is over.
Through photography, video and interviews, we were proud to help capture another chapter of the Illinois Amish Heritage Center’s story—and give them more ways to share it with their community. Because when something is worth experiencing, it’s usually worth remembering, too.
