Cass Concepts Productions is proud to announce its latest theatrical venture—“The National Anthem”, a brand-new, one-man musical comedy that takes audiences on a surprising and heartfelt journey through the life of Francis Scott Key, the man behind The Star-Spangled Banner.

Opening August 8, 2024, at Penn Station in Arthur, Illinois, this 90-minute performance offers more than just patriotic lyrics—it’s a fresh, funny, and thought-provoking look at one of America’s most misunderstood historical figures.
Written and composed by Wally Nason, a long-time creative partner of Cass Concepts Productions and a Nashville-based musical talent, The National Anthem dives into Key’s poetry, personal beliefs, and complicated legacy. The result? A one-man show packed with music, humor, and surprising truths.
“These musicals have always been about entertaining audiences of all ages—whether we’re talking Amish quilting, missing salt shakers, or now, the fascinating life of Francis Scott Key,” says Cassie Yoder, owner of Cass Concepts Productions. “We’re thrilled to bring this production to Penn Station and invite the community to experience history in a whole new way.”
🎭 A Legacy of Laughter & Learning
After a successful run of original productions like Half-Stitched: The Musical and Adam & Eve Go to Marriage Counseling, Cass Concepts Productions is returning to Arthur with its signature blend of storytelling, comedy, and cultural insight.
Previously housed at the Best Western Plus Hotel and Suites Convention Center in Arcola, the theatre company drew over 70,000 attendees, including enthusiastic bus groups and loyal fans from across the region. Now, with The National Anthem, the next chapter begins.
“Francis Scott Key’s story is rich with meaning—and not always what you’d expect,” says Wally Nason. “This production brings his journey to life in a way that’s both entertaining and deeply human.”
