When it comes to celebrating the Fourth of July, few do it quite like Arcola, Illinois. This year’s Drive-In Fireworks Show at Green Mill Village wasn’t just a visual spectacle—it was a celebration of small-town pride, regional partnerships, and the kind of community connection that makes events like this so unforgettable.
Held on Sunday, June 29, the event welcomed thousands to the Green Mill Village Development for a night of food, fun, and fireworks. Guests filled the lawn, sidewalks, and parking lots to take in the sights and sounds of one of Central Illinois’ most beloved summer traditions.

Cass Concepts was proud to help cover and promote this vibrant evening—capturing the atmosphere, highlighting local vendors, and supporting the City of Arcola and AF Holding Co. as they continue to build momentum in this growing development.
A Stage Set for Connection
Located just off I-57, Green Mill Village proved to be the perfect backdrop for the festivities—offering open space, charm, and a welcoming environment. The event spotlighted not only a dazzling fireworks show (sponsored by the City of Arcola) but also a wide array of food trucks, vendors, and family-friendly activities.
From homemade ice cream to hand-squeezed lemonade, attendees got a true taste of Central Illinois. Kids bounced through inflatable houses courtesy of Green Mill Village and enjoyed face painting and games designed to make this more than just a “watch and go” fireworks night—it was a memory-maker.
Small Town. Big Impact.
As fireworks lit up the sky, it became clear this event wasn’t just about celebration—it was about collaboration. Entrepreneurs from across Coles, Shelby, Douglas, Edgar, and Moultrie counties came together to create something meaningful. It was a shining example of how economic development and community events go hand-in-hand.
“This event showcases what happens when a city and a development come together with a shared vision,” said Cassie Yoder, Green Mill Village Marketing & Development. “We’re proud to open our space to moments like this—where families gather, businesses thrive, and community spirit takes center stage.”
Looking Ahead
With continued growth at Green Mill Village and new housing developments by Tabeling Development Co., the future of Arcola is bright. Plans are already underway for the 2026 fireworks celebration—and based on this year’s success, it’s sure to be even bigger.
But the excitement doesn’t stop there. Arcola hosts events year-round, including the iconic Broom Corn Festival each September, drawing thousands of visitors from across the region.
